RED-E TRACTOR
RED-E Tractor -- Did you know that a small tractor was once manufactured in Richfield, WI. This was the RED-E Tractor. The company which made this tractor started as M.B.M. Mfg. in the 1920s in Milwaukee. Pioneer Mfg. acquired M.B.M and the RED-E Tractor brand was developed. The CEO of Pioneer Mfg. was Russell E. Dohmann (Note the RED initials). His son, William Dohmann recently shared this story: “I was born in June, 1946. I remember many trips to Dad's work on Saturday mornings. We would go down Richfield’s main street and get free baloney at the butcher shop. Our family grew up in Menomonee Falls. The business closed around 1959. I believe there was a recession then. Also, the Simplicity brand came out and flooded the market.” Note: The building still exists in Richfield.
